The day after the Mueller hearings, Tyler and Larry discuss what happened, what the media reaction was, and what the fallout might be. The short version is that The Filibluster crew is “deeply disappointed” in Mueller’s approach to discussing his findings but also argue it wouldn’t have mattered much if he had been more forthcoming and explicit in his testimony. Tyler and Larry also discuss the options available to House Democrats from here and argue that one possibility that is not getting enough attention is that the House could impeach but the Senate could choose to just not hold a trial. You can read more about this possibility here: https://www.lawfareblog.com/can-senate-decline-try-impeachment-case. The Filibluster then inaugurates a new segment – “Focus Group of One” – in which we collect opinion data from an undecided 2020 Democratic Primary voter – in this case, friend of the podcast, David Deis. One key finding: we're pretty convinced we’re going to win an award. Email us at filiblusterpod@gmail.com and follow on Twitter @the_filibluster.
