Hello and thank you for downloading another episode of The Flixters Podcast!

On this week’s show The Flixters bring you a review of The Protege, a new Amazon Prime release starring Maggie Q, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton. In it, Maggie plays ‘Anna’ , an orphaned Vietnamese rescued by ‘Moody’ (Samuel). He takes her under his wing and trains Anna to become an elite assassin. When Moody is found dead, Anna seeks revenge on those involved.

Check out the show for what we thought!

We also get into the festive spirit with a review of Boxing Day, a new romantic comedy from British actor Aml Ameen. In it Aml plays ‘Melvin’, a US based novelist returning home to London for Christmas with his girlfriend ‘Lisa’ (How to Get Away with Murder’s Aja Naomi King). Things get a little tricky, as they do around Christmas time, when he bumps into his ex Georgia (Leigh-Anne Pinnock from Little Mix) who’s now a famous singer, and who he dumped before he went to the US. Mix in a healthy dose of familial complications and this is one Christmas movie you don’t want to miss.

Over on Anniversary Corner we look back at Colombiana (2011).

And over on Hidden Gems we’ve got Tangerine (2015) an independent film from director Sean Baker. Known for being made with an iPhone 5s, but don’t let that put you off. This film is a pure adrenaline rush from start to finish. With an excellent cast, the films looks at the underbelly of LA life on one Christmas Eve day.

Check out the review in full for more info!

And if that wasn’t enough for you we’ve even thrown in new trailers to watch and what you can catch on streaming.

And don’t forget to listen to the show for a very special Flixters prize for one lucky subscriber :)

Thank you for supporting us and we hope you enjoy the show!
