In Episode 46, Darian JaCorey and Cartie return after hiatus to discuss the most urgent issues being faced in the black community locally, domestically, and collectively. With the recent spike in covid cases recently in Texas, The Flats try to come to a conclusion on just how we expect the virus to disappear without using vaccines and playing into depopulation tactics. The conversation shifts to a situation that occurs all to often as the fellas pay their respects to activist and the beautiful spirit that was Toyin Salau who was a victim to sexual assault and abuse by one of our own. The talk gets heavy as the fellas discuss how imperative it is to protect our black women especially while the entire world is in dismay with black people being the focal point. The guys then discuss the discourse that took place between J.Cole and NoName over the weekend that had black men and women at odds over telling women how to lead and a smidge of patriarchy. The guys then reflect on the senseless deaths that took place over the weekend in Chicago and Charlotte and express their grievances we have within our own community and how to self reflect and galvanize while in the down time of our revolution. Topics like Bubba Wallace and his fight in NASCAR, the removal of statues of historical bigots and racists being taken down, Evangelic churches denouncing the false image of Jesus, and the officer released on bail following the killing of George Floyd caught out shopping carelessly are also discussed.
