“The Greatest Immortal'' is where this episode starts but Ed, Ron, and Producer Bill quickly find themselves discussing what their individual goals would be if they could not die. Sure there’s some talk about Galactus, The Highlander, demons, vampires like Lestat, and such but the episode is very much a Rorschach test. Fantasies we’ve never told anyone bubble to the surface and questions abound. Does morality remain a part of your life FOREVER if you know you’ll never actually “meet your maker”? Anybody can be a good person for 70 years, what about a thousand? Conversely, is it possible, even probable, that you’d become a great person on a long enough timeline? With all that time to work on yourself couldn’t you become anything you wanted? Why or why not? What would your goals be and how would that change over time? This ep is basically our interrogation of the concept of belief systems through a pop culture lens. Yeah, we’re deep. Dive in!
