He’s also the surgeon-in-chief at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine Center, Vice-Chair of the ACS Board of Regents, and Chair of the ACS Clinical Congress Program Committee. Dr. Michelassi reflects on his early career in his native Italy, his decision to move to the United States, and his impressive accomplishments as a gastrointestinal surgeon, researcher, teacher, and leader.
