In this Classical bookish episode, we discuss both The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
The Bluest Eye is the story of black, eleven-year-old Pecola Breedlove. Pecola prays for her eyes to turn blue so that she will be as beautiful and beloved as all the blond, blue-eyed children in America. In the autumn of 1941, the year the marigolds in the Breedloves' garden do not bloom. Pecola's life does change- in painful, devastating ways.
In Little Women, ere are talented tomboy and author-to-be Jo, tragically frail Beth, beautiful Meg, and romantic, spoiled Amy, united in their devotion to each other and their struggles to survive in New England during the Civil War.

As always, will either of these books make it onto the shelf? Or will it split the sand for these two hosts?
