Gidi Grinstein is an Israeli societal entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Reut Group), a non-partisan not-for-profit research, strategy and leadership group. He helped to found TOM: Tikkun Olam Makers, a global nonprofit that aids the disabled, elderly and poor. He has been involved in peacemaking in the Middle East region since 1995 and is able to offer his astute insights into how we arrived at the events of October 7, where we stand now, and what current and future negotiators need to know. Grinstein is the co-author of the book, (In)Sights: Peacemaking in the Oslo Process Thirty Years and Counting, which chronicles the past three decades of the peace-making process and outlines a path forward.This interview will be in two parts, with the second part to be broadcast next week. This year, the holy Muslim month of Ramadan in Australia is being overshadowed by the Israel-Gaza war. In Australia, anger at the ongoing conflict has now sparked a boycott, with Muslim community groups pulling out of an annual dinner with the Victorian Premier.
