Returning to the fold from various beautiful destinations, tropical or mountainous, Gavin and John put on the smug faces when it comes to the Ozawa break, Oi restarts, and…cheap soaplands?

If you’re living outside Japan, check out NHK World’s show, Journeys in Japan, particularly the Rishiri and Rebun Island episodes airing in August (dates unconfirmed); John will be hosting them both in his horrible non-photogenic fashion. But you’ll get to see cool views like this!

Incredibly kind hostel manager (Sankyuu, 3900/night on Rishiri) and questionably posed John at the Rishiri summit.

The view of the top of Mt. Rishiri, from just before the summit.
