Meet Nicole!

On this episode of the Joyride I chat with one of the women who were instrumental in bringing the Women Bike movement to Portland, program manager Nicole Davenport. Nicole has since left this position, but what you’ll hear is a recording of my orientation to be part of the “roll model” program I’m a firm believer in the power of community, especially women in groups. We use it to learn, relate, grow, advise, warn, and help each other. Here are links to some of the things we discuss in this show: “The Case for All-Women Cycling Clubs” by CItyLab.com: here. League of American Bicyclists National Women Bike Program: here. BTA Oregon (soon to be Street Trust) Women Bike PDX: here or FB group. Skjelse Marin Rapoch’s Go Fund Me: here. How do you feel about women’s cycling communities? Are you the member of a women group, a co-ed cycling group? Both, neither? Do you feel like those spaces help women to grow or only furthers the divide? Share what you think and which groups you belong to in the comments below, or email me at thejoyridepodcast@gmail.com. "Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage." xo ~C
