It's finally time for episode 4 of season 4, in which both Renaissance and Sunny are in St. Louis!!! How exciting! In other exciting news, we have heard you all yelling at us to watch and talk about Heartstopper and First Kill, so we finally give y'all our thoughts... and they might not be what you expected. But first, we discuss some listener submitted hot takes, where we revisit biphobia discourse, but add in the issue of "monosexism" and how annoying equalizing differing experiences across identities is, offering our thoughts on "allyship" and the virtue signaling of performative internet 'solidarity.' Then, we answer another listener's question about the Nordic model, AKA democratic socialism AKA imperialism. Finally, we answer a lovely email from a listener discussing the solidarity between trans women/transfems and lesbians, in the way we are both seen as predatory and threats to the feminist movement. For the last segment of the podcast, Sunny recommends the novella A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow, and Renaissance recommends the movie Dick (1999). Thanks for joining us for this episode, and you can find us on Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Letterboxd if you want to connect! Send your hot takes to thelavendermenacepodcast@gmail.com.
