This led her to develop a deep understanding of the challenges that come with navigating unfamiliar situations, which she shares in detail in her book, “The Expat”.
In this episode, Jovelle shares how she dealt with differences in culture, expectations, norms and gender biases in the workplace. One of the chapters in her book entitled, “She Won’t Last Long” was about her experience of being a foreign female leader in a male-dominated industry. She used her circumstance as an opportunity to inspire other young women toward excellence despite the unfavourable environment they were in.
