This week’s guest is Indiana’s own Hugh Fink, an Emmy Award-winning writer for Saturday Night Live, stand-up comic who appeared on Late Show with David Letterman four times, and current Harvard University faculty member, where he teaches comedy sketch writing. Hugh also offers personal coaching for comedy writers and performers. He is also head writer for the Writer's Guild Awards and has written on countless other projects.

Hugh and Mike dive into a fantastic conversation that begins with Hugh sharing a story from seventh grade, when he was obsessed with a local radio talk show hosted by—yes, you guessed it—David Letterman.

They then explore Hugh’s journey into comedy, his connection with Robert Smigel, his start at the Improv in Los Angeles, and his friendship with David Spade, which led to his successful run on Saturday Night Live. Hugh also goes in-depth about his four appearances on Late Show with David Letterman and what it was like to perform on that iconic stage. All that and more on this exciting episode of The Letterman Podcast!

Let’s wrap things up with a nod to our friends at Hello-Deli.com, where you can snag some official Late Show merchandise and support the legendary Rupert Jee. He’s got some classic gear that’ll take you back to the golden era of late-night TV!
