In this episode we continue our exploration with the topic of dialogue. In order to be successful in dialogue we need to employ certain strategies but most importantly, we need to make a conscious choice to do so. It's as much a skill as it is an act of the will. By embracing this mindset, we can ask ourselves one of the most powerful questions that create or promote healthy dialogue. The question is, "what do I want?"
This simple but yet powerful question allows our brain to engage and to manage emotions so that we can create the atmosphere for understanding to take place. What do you want for yourself, the relationship, the team, organization, etc. Think about that the next time you find yourself driven by an unproductive motive in a conversation or interaction.
