S3 Episode 4: Calling it in and calling it out with Ms Evelyn Mensah
Manage episode 371760338 series 3495140
On the podcast, we like to have conversations that we need to have but might not have elsewhere.
This week, our guest is Ms Evelyn Mensah (Evie), a Consultant Ophthalmic surgeon and part of the medical workforce race equality standard (MWRES). Evie is committed to tackling inequalities, particularly pertaining to race. In this episode, we discuss how we can all call it out and call it in. We also discuss how each of us as individuals can influence structural change, and Evie gives the example of her junior colleague who did this for a patient information leaflet.
We have a very special announcement to make - we have made membership to the MWF only £5 for all medical students! Sign up at this link: https://www.medicalwomensfederation.org.uk/members/join-us
