Mishlei 13:13 - Scorned Things and Revered Mitzvos
בָּז לְדָבָר יֵחָבֶל לוֹ, וִירֵא מִצְוָה הוּא יְשֻׁלָּם:
Length: 1 hour 18 minutes
Synopsis: Tonight (2/19/24), in our Monday Night Mishlei shiur, we learned a pasuk that seemed all over the place at first glance. What followed was one of the smoothest Mishlei analyses in memory: three of our own interpretations followed by three interpretations of the Meiri, all of which are critical for strengthening our decision-making and our relationship with the observance of halacha. The Meiri's second explanation, in particular, stands out to my mind for its revolutionary advice on how to solve a certain species of religious crisis to which certain types of people are prone. If you're looking for six practical and powerful ideas, then this pasuk is for you!
