Casting director Nancy Nayor (ROAD TRIP, THE GRUDGE, THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE) has cast some of cinema’s biggest films and in this episode she joins Adam, Joe, and Arwen for a glimpse behind the mysterious casting curtain. How does one become a casting director? What does a casting director actually do and how much pull to they actually have in the final say of which actors get the parts? What are the do’s and don’t’s of auditioning- for both the actor and the filmmaker? Are acting classes worthwhile and if so, which types of classes come most recommended? Is the “Hollywood Casting Couch” a real thing? How do you break in when you’re auditioning up against famous faces and actors with more notable credits to their name than you can count? Chances are good that you’ll get a more honest perspective on the casting process from these 2 hours than you will from a full semester of film school... so listen closely, memorize your sides, dress the part, and be prepared for your big chance. Your “Viewer Mail” is answered, a new game is played, and the boys remember the great Lemmy Kilmister in this fun and highly educational episode. NOTE: Due to a technical malfunction at the GeekNation recording studio, this episode was recorded at ArieScope using a last minute "MacGyvered" recording method. After the great lengths the boys went through to work overtime the last two months and make sure that you didn’t miss a single week of The Movie Crypt (even during the holidays when all other podcasts were on hiatus), there was no way they were going to let a technical issue be the cause of their first missed episode. Since the technical malfunction happened a mere hour before recording, Adam and Joe did the best they could without the proper time or equipment to record off site. So our apologies that this episode may not sound as perfect as the 137 episodes that came before it, but hey… even when the chips were down and all hope seemed lost they STILL pulled off a new episode for you this week, so no complaining! Adam Green’s SCARY SLEEPOVER is back in season! If you missed the incredible season premiere with Tony Todd you can still watch it now - FREE - exclusively on www.ArieScope.com. This Wednesday actress Felissa Rose (SLEEPAWAY CAMP) joins Adam for a night of laughs, pain, and horrifying jelly beans. Don’t miss it! New episodes of SCARY SLEEPOVER premiere every Wednesday through April 6th. Follow everyone on Twitter: @Nancy_Nayor, @Adam_Fn_Green, @TheJoeLynch, @Arwen_Fn_Green, and @MovieCrypt. To find out more about Nancy’s fantastic auditioning workshops visit her official website: http://nancynayorcasting.com. Also, follow Adam and Joe on Periscope (@Adam_Fn_Green and @TheJoeLynch) where they often do live video chats with the audience before recording begins. This past week’s Periscope Chat even included a virtual tour of the ArieScope studio and showcased many of the screen-used props used in films like HATCHET, FROZEN, HOLLISTON, and DIGGING UP THE MARROW! You can re-watch the broadcast on Adam’s Periscope now.
