This is a recording from the VERY EARLY days (we will call it SEASON 666) of The Mystery Collection Conversations, I was (as I say in one of the episodes) just an asshole with a camera in a basement and reached out to a bunch of people I wanted to talk with. These episodes have a very special place in my history as being so raw and low tech.
This episode might be my favorite one I have done. I reached out to Jake to talk about his amazing book GONE AT MIDNIGHT about the mystery of Elisa Lam and the Cecil Hotel. While we discussed the book and the mystery, the conversation turned into a very deep and personal talk about mental health specifically with men. It was the first time I had publicly talked about my struggles and my therapy with medication and counseling. I really hope to have Jake back on a show very soon.
