August 14, 2023 - Today’s episode of The Omnibus Show will feature Executive Chef and Beverage Director for the Hotel Carmichael, Jason Crouch.

Chef Crouch is a 2006 graduate of Jay County High School in Portland, Indiana. After high school, he moved to Indianapolis to pursue his dream of becoming a chef and enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at Ivy Tech. While attending school, he worked for AVI Food Systems at many accounts and ultimately became the Executive Chef at the Indiana State Museum at only 23 years of age.

After traveling to France to study abroad, he graduated with an Associates Degree in 2009. During the following years, Chef Crouch worked at the Meridian Hills Country Club with Chef Joe Miller, and Kahn’s Catering, where he was instrumental in opening the dining centers of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indiana State Museum and the L.S. Ayres Tea Room.

Chef Crouch then decided to move into a new area of the industry with Bon Appetit at DePauw University. After a few years he was the Executive Chef at Knox College and worked at Duke University and the Art Institute of Chicago as outside support.

Having tackled contract food service, catering food service, and higher education food service, Chef Crouch was excited for a new challenge, so when he heard of a new hotel opening in Noblesville, he was thrilled. Starting as the pre-opening team, Chef Crouch coordinated placement, design, and install of the kitchen at Embassy Suites Noblesville.

After COVID-19, Chef Crouch found his new home – he was excited to join the team at Hotel Carmichael for the opportunity to be part of Feinstein’s, Vivante French Eatery, and the many beautiful events at the hotel as Executive Chef and Food and beverage Director.

Recently, Chef Crouch was honored by the American Culinary Federation as Chef of the Year for 2019 and even had a day in the city of Noblesville declared, “Jason Crouch Day” by the mayor. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Edmond Gass award from Ivy Tech in 2021.
