Time Bandits

We are turning back time to 1981 and at the same time it’s 2024 (in fact we’re jumping all around the timeline, and all over the magical map)! In 1981 Time Bandits was a Terry Gilliam film nominally aimed at kids with a stacked cast and a deeply weird premise.
Time Bandits in 2024 is an Apple TV original series directed by Taika Waititi with a deeply weird cast and a stacked premise.

Is it actually any good? Let’s find out together shall we?

Synopsis

Young history buff Kevin (Kal-el Tuck) can scarcely believe it when five weirdos emerge from his closet one night. Former employees of the Supreme Being, they’ve purloined a map charting all of the holes in the fabric of time and are using it to steal treasures from different historical eras.

In this show we also talked about some other fun topics, which are well worth checking out.

We talk a bit about:

Batman: Caped Crusader – the new animated show on Amazon Prime

Star Trek: Prodigy – The surprisingly good second season of which is on Netflix right now.

Trap – the new film from M. Night Shyamalan

and the upcoming wave of D&D based Lego Minifigs coming soon!

A huge thank you to all our regular weirdos and bandits (and any who are neither) who listen avidly to each edition of the show, especially those of you joining in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!). If you haven’t done so before, take your reality hole exit to join in on our live show 7:30pm next Wednesday!

Special love and thanks goes to those who have financially bolstered this podcast via dropping some their coins into our Ko-Fi cup and now also by subscribing on Twitch! Your generosity is always appreciated!

If you feel so inclined drop us a sub! The more subs we get the more Emotes You get! Every bit of your support helps us to keep the kabuki performers paid.

Don’t fret if you can’t be there for the recording though as you can catch them on Youtube usually later that very night. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss them!
