The Philadelphia 76'ers 2019-2020 season has begun! There are high hopes in Sixers Nation for a very successful year as the front office has put together a team to compete for a NBA Title. This week, it's our Sixers Season Preview! Tom West, writer and contributor at LibertyBallers.com and the Sixers Film Room, joined us for a great discussion about expectations for this team as excitement continues to build for the season. It's a great interview!
But first, we discussed the currently lull the Eagles are facing, whether the team needs a rebuild, or if Doug Pederson needs to kick things into shape within the locker room. We also gave our Eagles vs. Bills scoring predictions as well. (approx. 5:00)
We then dove into the Flyers early season and how Joel Farabee has been a needed spark on the team. (approx. 13:45)
From there, we talked about Brian Barber being hired as the Phillies new head of amateur scouting, overseeing the draft and the Phils international free agency process. (approx. 19:50)
This week on the Highbrow Segment, we referenced Ken Rosenthal's recent article on The Athletic, and asked the question; does baseball need to develop marquee starting pitchers to be more entertaining in the future? (approx. 24:55)
Then on our Lowbrow Segment, we took things down a notch, as we always do. We gave our thoughts on which fan base has been the worst thus far here in 2019, and why. (approx. 37:00)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth interview with Tom West from Liberty Ballers and the Sixers Film Room. Aside from shooting, where might we see improvements in Ben Simmons' game? What should we realistically expect from rookie Matisse Thybulle on defense and as he plays offense? Will Joel Embiid be a top-5 MVP candidate? Now that Jimmy Butler is gone, who closes out games for this Sixers team? Plus, much more during this interview. (approx. 3:10)
After our interview, we discussed which Sixers players would take on the following roles this year: Breakout Guy, Needs To Rebound, Rising Star. Then we gave our Sixers regular season wins prediction.
