Phillies fans remain excited, optimistic and incredibly engaged with what's happening to this team as we look toward the summer. There are question marks for sure, and there are exclamation points to dissect as well. That's why we brought onto the show this week Paul Boye, writer and contributor from TheGoodPhight.com. We got into the nuts and bolts of this team who is still contending in the NL East.
But first, on the Brief News & Views segment:
1. Eagles news and notes: Worrilow injured, Kendricks released, Foles declined a trade. (5:00)
2. Is Kawhi Leonard off the table for the Sixers? (16:20)
3. Vegas Golden Knights' success and what the Flyers can learn. (19:20)
4. TAKE IT or LEAVE IT: The Phillies should trade for a veteran backup catcher to replace Andrew Knapp. (25:20)
Then we get into our Up or Down segment where we briefly analyze Philly sports figures to determine if their needle is moving up or down. (28:20)
What we're throwing down on the Table this week is a discussion and interview with Paul Boye from The Good Phight. First, gave our "one word" to describe this Phillies team so far on the season. Getting into pitching, Paul provided analysis of the closer position and Hector Neris' future. Sticking with pitching, the guys discussed in-depth, the ups and downs of Vincent Velazquez, and whether or not Nick Pivetta is an elite and top arm in MLB. Who might be the future right field starter? Will Rhys Hoskins find his way back to productivity in the near future? All of this and much more this week on the Table! (35:15)
