Jacqui Clarke and I met around a decade ago, when I was media training in one of the Big 4 consultancy firms in Sydney. Today she is a trusted advisor, board member, executor and veteran business executive. For decades she has worked with some of Australia's wealthiest families to help them preserve, protect and grow their wealth, and navigate the challenges that money brings.

She has a new book out that has a powerful yet blunt message: Take control of your money, avoid common financial pitfalls, and prepare for whatever life throws at you.

In Stop Worrying about Money, Jacqui Clarke, Australia’s best-kept money secret, delivers smart and sure-fire guidance that will see you through life’s financial ups and downs. You’ll learn to clarify your values, set goals, and be upfront and honest about your money—both with yourself and with others.

Like Jacqui herself, this book proves to be a practical and hands-on guide to dealing with life’s most common and challenging financial obstacles, Stop Worrying about Money is the energising, no-nonsense financial wake-up call that many of us who think we are not money masters have been waiting for as cost of living rises affect the masses.
Hear from Jacqui on:

1. If you have come from a financially savvy family who has grown their wealth over generations vs a newly wealthy person, are you more likely to know the unspoken rules of managing money better? Why or why not? The 1997 bestselling book Rich Dad, Poor Dad comes to mind – probably for me one book of its era motivated many people to take control of their financial lives and achieve financial independence. How does that polarising advice stack up now?

2. For so many people, ideas of financial independence and freedom go hand in hand. However, incomes, risk aptitudes, and finding solid opportunities to make and save money are not equal – how do you advise clients to manage their money no matter their income?

3. Stages of life define our financial priorities – sometimes it’s a time for spending on life experiences or study, a time for saving, buying a property, retirement planning etc. How can we make it fun as well as serious?

4. Does property as an investment vehicle vs a roof over our heads means we have created a beast in an inflated market in Australia?

5. Best and the worst financial decision you ever made and why?

6. Takeaway: What is your final takeaway message for us on The Politics of Money Worries?
