31:05Vicki Sokolik refuses to be an Ostrich. Her son brought to her attention the crisis of unhoused youth — youth unhoused, not living with a parent/guardian, and not in foster care — in America, and she has been fighting to support this vulnerable population every since. Most active in Tampa Bay, Florida, Vicki is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit Starting Right, Now, which removes barriers for unaccompanied homeless youth to cultivate long-term well-being and self-sufficiency. She is also the author of the new book, “If You See Them: Young, Unhoused, and Alone in America.” Vicki Sokolik joined host Jay Ruderman to discuss the many ways unhoused youth fall through the cracks in our society, how her organization helps them, and also how to build trust with people who could use your help. ×That's it! Five years and 230-some-odd shows later, this is the final episode. We picked some good folks to help us close it out: Bobby Purcell joins us in the first segment to discuss the Wolfpack Club and his involvement with the Pigskin Preview, then two familiar faces--Chuck Amato and Austin Johnson--rejoin Matt and I one last time to help close up shop. Thank you for listening over the years!…
Well, we're winding things down. Matt Purdy joins me this week to discuss the end of the baseball season and one more powershot of recruiting news before we wrap things up next week.
Lauren returns this week for another guest appearance! We talk a good bit about baseball, some basketball draft news and even a bit about the passing of Muhammed Ali.
NC State basketball SID Josh Rattray joins us to discuss how he came to NC State, the past basketball season and the prognosis for State basketball moving forward. Plus, we sneak in a little baseball talk at the end.
Two first-time guests and a familiar face reunite on this week's show. Ernie Myers is joined by Cozell McQueen and Max Perry of the 83 team to recount their visit to the White House this past week, as well as help Matt and I discuss the commitment of Omer Yurtseven.
Matt and I hit on a variety of topics, per usual--baseball, recruiting and the 1983 NCAA Title Team's trip to the White House.
Lauren rejoins us this week! Brandan Bishop joins us for the first time! A full show to say the least. We start with a solid segment devoted to the draft, then talk basketball, baseball and punting to Gio (!) in the second.
Steven Muma of BackingThePack rejoins us this week to talk baseball, more. Head to marchforbabies.org/JamesCurle to support us at this week's March For Babies!
We are joined by Alec Lower of the NC State BassPack and Backing The Pack to discuss the three-time national champion bass fishing team. What does it take to hit the water with the BassPack? $60 and a dream. (And having a boat helps.) We also have a good discussion about baseball, basketball and other things.…
Matt and I discuss the results of the Kay Yow Spring Football Game and how much you should actually glean from it. We also give praise to the cheer squads for their national title, and finish with some baseball discussion.
Matt and I talk about new basketball assistant coach Butch Pierre, baseball's big series win on the road against Virginia and preview this weekend's Kay Yow Spring Game.
Joe Giglio of the News and Observer joins Matt and I to discuss a wide range of NC State and ACC topics. We focus on basketball almost exclusively in the first segment, then discuss wrestling, Director's Cup standings and more in the second.
Matt and I discuss a variety of topics this week. Wrestling concluded its season in NYC; Baseball took two of three against ND; How much money each game an ACC team plays in the NCAA tournament is worth to the conference; and more!
John Manuel of Baseball America joins us to discuss some college baseball. Did dropping two of three against BC to start conference play dig State into an immediate hole? How can the Pack get back on track offensively? Pitching depth discussion and much more.
A jam-packed show again this week! Ryan Tice of The Wolfpacker joins us to break down Pack Wrestle's ACC Title--the first since 2007--and helps us preview the NCAAs coming up in two weeks. Then Ernie Myers joins Matt, Ryan and I to discuss the ACC Tournament and the prop prospects of Cat Barber. Some spring football discussion, as well!…
