This episode focuses on the importance of reviewing contracts carefully before signing them. While it may be tempting to just scroll down and sign, it is important to take the time to read and understand the terms of the contract. Michael Gaddie, Sharon Rumsey and Kristina Stubblefield noted that vendors often have things included and not included in their contracts. They discussed that importance of asking questions about anything that is unclear. Michael shared that he goes through his entire contract with potential clients at the consultation, which Sharon mentioned she loves. Michael mentioned specific details of his contracts, such as not sending pictures of flowers. Ultimately, it is in the best interest of the couple to take the time to read and review the contract. They encouraged couples to look for details such as what is supplied, what is not supplied, and potential due dates. They agreed that it is important to read contracts carefully to avoid potential issues on the wedding day. Kristina Stubblefield, Michael Gaddie, and Sharon Rumsey discussed the importance of not sharing all of one's wedding planning immediately after getting engaged. Sharon explained that while it's great to share the news with family and close friends, it is better to not make a big announcement in places such as work. This is because until wedding planning begins, the guest list is uncertain, and people may think they are invited when they may not be. Furthermore, everyone will have an opinion and this can add to the stress and overwhelm that comes with planning a wedding. The trio advised that wedding planning should be fun, rather than a source of anxiety. The trio discussed how to enjoy the process of wedding planning and not let it become overwhelming. They suggested that when people ask about the details of the wedding, couples should smile a lot and talk less, saying that they're still working on the details and figuring things out. Sharon Rumsey and Michael Gaddie discussed the importance of tempering out details when planning a wedding. They advised that it is important to limit the number of people who accompany the couple to try on wedding attire and make other wedding decisions. Sharon noted that it can be helpful to bring a friend or family member for support, but it is important to remember that the wedding should be about the couple's vision and not about what other people may want. Whether it’s Iceland and the northern lights, backpacking through Europe, a train tour through a national park or an all-inclusive beach resort, your honeymoon should be as unique as your wedding and as you are! What’s your dream? Tune in to this episode as co-hosts Kristina, Mike and Sharon talk to travel agent and expert traveler herself, Tara Branch. Tara shares how most travel advisors are paid on commission and don’t charge the traveler for their services… and even if they do, they can save you money and get you upgrades you wouldn’t have received if you had booked the trip yourself. Invest 30 minutes to listen in for more exceptional tips that will help you to understand that travel agents/advisors are travel experts and they will not only save you time but get you more bang for your buck! After being a special education teacher for over 20 years, Tara decided to make a career out of her other passion, travel. She is the wife to a fellow traveler, Ian and stepmom to 3 great kids and 3 furbabies. She and Ian love to take the family on trips, lead trips of fellow travelers and go on their own adventures whenever they can. Tara and the other agents at Vacations by Tara enjoy helping others make wonderful memories with friends and loved ones while making their vacation as stress-free as possible. Timestamps: • [3:45] Tara explains how she loves travel and how when she was looking for options to get out of the classroom, travel seemed the perfect fit. • [5:36] “What's important to you about the honeymoon?
