Minute 046: I Like It!

Best known for his television roles as Rick Sammler on Once and Again, as Det. Joey Indelli on Crime Story, as Jordan Collier on The 4400, and as Dr. Jon Fielding on the Tales of the City miniseries. He is also known for his recurring role as Luke Fuller in Dynasty which was his first prominent role. His most notable films include Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Enough. He portrayed Darren Richmond on the AMC television series The Killing, and played Dr. Alan Farragut in the SyFy series Helix.

And he was the title character in a little film called The Rocketeer.

Summary

Peevy jumps out of his pickup truck and heads down to the marsh, to the last place where he last saw Cliff headed.

“Cliff!” he yells. He spots Cliff at the edge of the marsh, sitting in the water.

“Peevy?” says Cliff, his voice muffled by the helmet. Peevy sloshes through the marsh toward Cliff, and unfastens Cliff’s helmet.

Cliff exhales sharply when the helmet is removed. “I– like it!” he says, smiling.

“What in the hell is the matter with you?” asks Peevy. “Are you trying to kill yourself? We don’t know how long this thing stays up, or how much fuel is in her!” Peevy helps Cliff to stand up and they head back to the pickup truck.

“If you want to look around, you use your eyeballs,” says Peevy. “This thing’s got a rudder on it,” as Peevy points to the helmet. “If you turn your head, you change course. Do you hear what I’m saying?”

As they arrive at the pickup truck, Peevy takes a closer look at the rocket pack. “Boy, you banged that up pretty good.” says Peevy. “I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to fix that.”

Cliff turns and looks at Peevy. “Peevy,” says Cliff, “You can fix anything.”

Peevy looks over Cliff’s shoulder at the road back to the airport. Cars are headed their way.

“Uh oh,” says Peevy. “We’ve got company! Must be the news boys. You put on quite a show!”

“They can’t find out who we are,” says Cliff, “Whoever owns this thing is going to want it back, and I’m just getting the hang of it.” Peevy puts his foot on the clutch and gets ready to start the truck.
