  • [9:56] - In psychology, there's a concept called the hedonic treadmill. An example would be, when you buy a new car and you get that sugar hit of fulfillment for a little while, and all of a sudden your happiness tends to drift back to its previous level.   • [17:21] - Compassion is empathy in practice. As dental practitioners, compassion is almost baked into our DNA. And if it's not, you probably don't last in a healthcare environment. Intrinsically, we understand compassion, so how does empathy compare to compassion in our workplace?
  • [20:54] - We can't do everything. So you've got to be compassionate to yourself first and foremost. Finding the magic in the things we do everyday is what is most important.
