Drafted in 2008 by the Chicago Cubs, South Carolina native Jay Jackson spent years grinding, moving from place to place in search of his big-league dream.
It took longer than most, and many give up way before Jackson even considered it.
Nine MLB organizations — and many additional stops — later, Jackson is penning a story of fortitude and perseverance in his age-35 season, becoming, at times, a very important part of the 2023 Toronto Blue Jays bullpen.
In addition to trying to keep a big-league job, Jackson has also been navigating the premature birth of his son this year, making his story all the more remarkable.
You can follow Jackson on X at @Jaxland58.

This interview will.
Joining the show to talk all things Blue Jays prospects and review the soon-to-be-done minor-league season is the club’s director of player development Joe Sclafani.
From Ricky Tiedemann all the way down to the bottom of the system in the Dominican Summer League, Mitchell and Sclafani break down some of the key performances in the Jays’ pipeline this year.
