The Cask of Amontillado, by Edgar Allan Poe is a chilling short story that revolves around the theme of revenge. The narrator, Montresor, seeks vengeance against Fortunato, whom he perceives as having insulted him. The story explores themes of deception, betrayal, and the darkness that resides within the human psyche, creating a suspenseful and psychologically intense narrative.
