Minreet Kaur; a Freelance Journalist, TV/Radio Presenter, events host and henna artist who has a keen interest in showcasing really heart warming stories from BAME communities and the importance of faith (most importantly during the Covid Pandemic). She enjoys traveling, outdoor activities and motto in life is: Always remain in chardi kala (high spirits).
She is an experienced broadcast journalist having worked in broadcast newsrooms such as BBC and Sky, as well as in radio and online.
She won reporter of the year from Asian Media Awards for the skipping Sikh report on BBC. She has been the face of Sikh Channel, covering community, health, educational, travel and political topics facing the successful and vibrant Sikh community in the UK.
Our conversation gave us much insight into the world of journalism and challenges with covering Sikh stories. Minreet shares advice for budding journalist on how they can get ahead in this field.
