This episode, first published on the Silver King's birthday centennial (April 23, 2023), is the conclusion of the "Dearest Ones" epilogue. Our hero, the Silver King, wrote hundreds of letters to his family throughout World War Two. It's September 1945 and Stanley is waiting for a ride home from his war. He wrote two descriptive, thoughtful letters from France about his hours and days at the "Lucky Strike" camp in Le Harve. It's been two months with no mail and Stanley is ready for Ida Mae's home cooking. He hopes to ride one of "The Queens" west over the Atlantic from Antwerp to New York harbor.
