The best Retirement Plan in the world can be quickly undermined by the need for long-term care. When asked, many people believe that 'the government' will take care of them should they need care, but it's probably not the kind of care you'd want to see for your parents or your spouse. All too often, one spouse needs care (Alzheimer's and dementia numbers are soaring, for one example), and the Retirement Nest Egg is completely emptied for their care.
