It seems like from time to time, every business has some kind of issues in finding staff. Well, it's time for that to end.

Series: How to build a great team Cohost: Greg Hamlyn from Trades Coaching

In this series, we welcome Greg Hamlyn from 'Trades Coaching' back to the microphone to discuss the ongoing battle around building staff and retaining them. In the previous episode, we spoke about creating roles and positions and in this podcast we're talking about how to go about finding staff.

You may remember Greg from these previous episodes, which formed the 'How to stop competing on price and getting paid for bids, quotes & proposals' series we conducted not too long ago.

Greg has been working with trade base organisations for a very long time and his expertise is well regarded in both the local Australian market, as well as the USA. With offices and staff in both countries, Greg and his team constantly strive to add value to businesses they work with and in this series, I'm glad to say that some of that value will be past on to our listeners also.

Episode 2. Finding AWESOME Staff

Finding people that fit your organisation is a true art form. Not only do they have to be able to be capable and competent, they also have to fit your culture and fill that missing spot in the team.

We forever hear the stories of staff coming and going because they weren't doing their job correctly, etc, however in most cases, a staff members failure comes as a result of the way they've been inducted and trained.

Taking responsibility of your team and on-boarding new members correctly is often the difference between a successful relationship, however the first battle is of course finding that person in the first place.

In this podcast, Greg talks to us about some of the typical pitfalls he sees with trade based businesses looking to bring on new team members and he also talks us through his process of bringing on new staff.
