Sha’ Cannon, originally from Alabama, is a fractional Chief Operating Officer currently living in Argentina. With nine years of experience as a paralegal for top Fortune 100 firms, she has always been a born leader and knew she was great in leadership. In this blog post, we’ll explore her journey to becoming the successful woman she is today.
During an interview with John, Sha’ discussed her background and experience leading up to her current role as a fractional COO. She shared that even though she had great success working in corporate America as a paralegal, it wasn't fulfilling all of her needs and ambitions. So, instead of following the traditional path many take when leaving corporate--which usually involves finding another job in the same field--Sha' took a radical approach and opted to become an entrepreneur and start her own business instead.
In order to help guide her on this new journey, Sha' looked to Simon Sinek's teachings for inspiration and direction. She found Sinek's works on leadership inspiring and motivating; they gave her the confidence she needed to achieve success in her pursuits outside of corporate America. Additionally, she got a peacock tattooed on herself as an homage to her former corporate life--the peacocks feathers are said to represent masculine energy, which resonated with Sha'.

To show her dedication to this goal, Sha’ got herself an eye-catching peacock tattoo – something inspired by her journey in the corporate world but also something that represents the masculine energy within herself. According to Sha’, “the peacock is really symbolic because I want people around me to understand that I am here for my purpose and I am here for what I believe in." It reminds her every day of how far she has come and how much farther she can go if she continues striving for success.

Sha’s Role as Leader and Visionary

Sha’ is known as the “Keeper of the Vision.” It is her job to take the CEO's vision for the company and manage the team so that they can execute on that vision. As a leader, she must inspire, motivate, challenge, and serve the team while also serving the needs of the CEO. In short, she is both leader and mediator between two entities—the CEO and the team—and it is her job to find balance between them.
Sha’ also works hard to be a “rainmaker” in her business; that is, someone who makes things happen by finding creative solutions to problems or ideas for new projects or initiatives. This requires not only understanding what people need but also being able to anticipate their needs before they even ask for them—all while listening intently to their feedback. Through this approach, Sha’ has been able to bring out the best in her team members by connecting with them on an individual level.

The first thing Sha’ had to do was find her own “why.” She realized that by understanding what drives her and what motivates her, it would be easier for her to unlock her full potential. After much thought and soul-searching, she concluded that freedom is what drives her. Freedom from money worries, freedom from feeling stuck professionally or emotionally—the list goes on.
After Sha’ found her “why,” she began researching individuals who could help her further understand the importance of discovering your own personal motivations. That's when she stumbled upon Simon Sinek. It was then that she realized just how powerful his philosophy of leadership is.
Simon Sinek believes that everyone should have a “why”—a purpose or cause they believe in passionately enough to motivate them to take action every day. He argues that if you can properly articulate your purpose or cause (your why), then you will be able to inspire others around you as well as yourself to work towards achieving those goals.

The Experience of Becoming an Expat

When Sha first made the decision to become an expat, she was apprehensive. After all, traveling by yourself can be intimidating! But as soon as Sha’ arrived in another country and experienced the vibrant culture and friendly people, any fears melted away. It was then that Sha realized something important: “Just because you go somewhere by yourself doesn’t mean you stay by yourself.” People from all around the world are eager to connect with visitors and share their culture with them.

Digital Nomad Tools

Running a successful business as a digital nomad requires constant organization and efficiency—which Sha relies on certain tools like Zoom, Cloud storage services, Google Docs, Acuity Scheduling, Canva, Whatsapp & Rappi each day! By utilizing these key tools she is able to manage her workflow seamlessly while staying connected with colleagues across multiple time zones around the globe.

The Challenges

When asked if she encountered any unique challenges while traveling in different countries, Sha’ had some interesting insights. As a woman- particularly as one whose skin is not dark enough for people to know her ethnicity without being told - she expressed that she had felt safer and less exposed to racism outside of the United States. To protect herself further from any potential harm or danger, Sha’ was cautious about when she stayed out late and where exactly she went alone. Additionally, Sha’ made sure no one knew where exactly she lived or allowed anyone into her home during her travels.

Who Is Sha' Dating?

When she isn't busy running her business or exploring new countries, Sha' enjoys indulging in the local cuisines wherever she goes! With each passing day she gets more adventurous in her culinary explorations in other countries. Her love affair with food is definitely one for the books!

Conclusion

It's clear why Sha' Cannon has become such a sought-after fractional COO for small businesses around the globe—her combination of technical knowledge plus business acumen gives her clients an edge in today's competitive marketplaces. Plus, living as a digital nomad allows her to make an impact all over the world without having to settle down in one place!
From selling candy to classmates in middle school, Sha’ Cannon is now an experienced Entrepreneur helping others secure success and financial freedom. She has a powerhouse of resources including personalized coaching, products & services - all designed to build credibility through publication, visibility with content creation and maximize bankability for maximum profit potential!
