Welcome to the 3rd episode of the Successful Healthcare Working Mother Podcast! This time we are diving into Navigating Childcare as a Healthcare Working Mother. It would be great if we could clock into our shifts and turn off our worries as moms. But in reality, our children are always on our minds and in our hearts.

In this episode I provide you with a framework for being prepared as a mother so you can be present as a healthcare worker.

Main Points:
- Identifying Your Childcare Needs
- Exploring Childcare Options
- Creating a Support System

Actionable Steps:
- Interview potential candidates thoroughly, check references, and ensure they have relevant experience.
- Visit several centers, ask about their curriculum, staff qualifications, and health/safety protocols.
- Have an honest conversation about expectations, compensation, and backup plans if they are unavailable.
- Attend meetups or virtual meetings to share experiences and recommendations.
- Prepare a proposal outlining how flexible hours or remote work could benefit both you and the company.
- Create a list of trusted babysitters, family members, or backup daycare centers you can call on short notice.

By concentrating on these areas, healthcare working mothers can navigate childcare more successfully, allowing them to be more present as healthcare workers. I encourage you to start taking action using the steps outlined in today’s episode.
