A lot happened in the Premier League this weekend. A LOT! Join us as we dissect and discuss all the big talking points...

Part 1

An amazing moment requires only one voice: that of Peter Drury. Throughout all the madness that is 2020, still we at least have the touch and grace of commentary royalty.

Hello and welcome to the Total Football podcast, I am your host Declan Harte. Joining me is Andrew Conway

Andrew, is it comforting to know Drury is still capable of producing such fine commentary to match such fine moments?

Part 2

We’ll start then by looking at that comeback. From 3-0 down to drawing 3-3. Has David Moyes reached his final form?

Tottenham weren’t the only side to blow a comfortable lead. Chelsea led 2-0 and 3-2 but succumbed to a similarly late goal to draw 3-3 against Southampton.

The Merseyside Derby has been dominated by conversations of VAR, suspensions and all sorts of nonsense. But just how good was that game?

Man City beat Arsenal 1-0, but the game’s biggest talking point was the action of Sergio Aguero. His lingering touch on the shoulder of assistant lineswoman Sian Massey Ellis has been under intense scrutiny. Guardiola defended the Argentine’s actions, proclaiming he is a “nice guy” but is what he did acceptable?

Man United’s fortunes turned thanks to a late rout of Newcastle on Saturday. Was 4-1 a flattering scoreline or was it an improved performance from the Red Devils?

Part 3

The Champions League returns this week. The group stage draw was held at the beginning of the month, but the action only commences this midweek. Do we expect any upsets or will it be business as usual for Europe’s biggest sides? Will the craziness of pandemic football inspire unlikely results?
