In this episode we WadeOutThere with Tim Landwehr from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Tim grew up fly fishing as a young person in Wisconsin for smallmouth and trout. After college Tim quit a job that left him unfulfilled and unhappy, and moved to Montana where he started instructing casting and guiding.
Tim eventually moved back to Wisconsin with his wife and opened the fly shop, Tight Lines Fly Fishing Company. Over the years the shop has shifted its focus from trout to smallmouth. Tim continues to guide and instruct, and has published a book entitled Smallmouth, Modern Fly Fishing Methods, Tactics, and Techniques.
We discuss common trends Tim sees in beginner casters, Smallmouth Tactics, letting go of your “trout brain”, and a special reason to skip school to go fishing.
