On this week’s show we dive back into the world of science-fiction-author extraordinaire, Philip K. Dick by looking at his break-out, dystopian, future-prophesying 1977 classic “A Scanner Darkly,” alongside its faithful 2006 film adaptation. If you’re not familiar, the movie is free on Youtube. In the free section of the show we explore the Biblical quote the title of the work is referring to and why this film and numerous other works by Philip K. Dick could be considered gnostic in character. We dig into and find a number of gems by looking at the name etymology of a Scanner Darkly’s characters, starting of course with Bob which reveals numerous connections to gnostic and ancient Egyptian wisdom. In the extended edition of the show we go even deeper into what is really going on in the iconic medical examination scene. By looking at Egyptian hieroglyphs we get some heavy insight into the meaning behind the symbols used in the scene and triangulate an ancient myth which reflects ALL the major themes in A Scanner Darkly. If that were not enough we even find how the gematria value of the examination room reflects these ideas in a coherent way that further clarifies the deeper narrative behind Philip K. Dick’s strangely charming and tortured tale before concluding with a discussion about which order of angel is responsible for reading Freck’s endless list of sins - thank you and enjoy the show!

In this week’s show we discuss:
The Title from Corinthians
The Kenoma and Black Iron Prison
Etymology of Bob
A Sun God
The Watchers
Arctor, El-Primo Huntee
Frederick the Bruce
Gospels of Thomas
Lobo, The Wolf

In the extended edition of the show available at www.patreon.com/TheWholeRabbit we go even further to discuss:
Medical Examination Room 203
Gematria
Why Did I See a Sheep?
The Greyhound
Plastic Dog Sh*t
A Man’s Dispute with His Ba
Freck and the Angel
