Finally, a Star Wars film that doesn't shy away from the sexier side of war. To all those kids who watched the first trilogy and thought, "Sure, lightsabers are cool, but I really want to deep dive into the politics of the Star Wars universe. How would things like trade sanctions, planetary blockades, senate meetings and diplomatic negotiations work? I imagine exactly like they do on Earth but just on a space ship, but I'd love to see that played out over the course of two hours." Then this film's for you. It's got negotiations, it's got slaves, it's got Brian Blessed. It does also have pod racing which is sick but then it has Jar Jar Binks so, swings and roundabouts. Is it as bad as the people of the early naughties made out? Yes.
