Welcome to Episode 18 of The Write Start. I'm Lisa Iannucci, and this podcast is all about becoming a successful full-time freelance writer. I’ve had a very long career where I’ve written for many national magazines and newspapers and written more than 20 books. It’s my career, not my hobby and, on this podcast, you’ll learn everything you need to know about writing --from finding ideas to landing assignments and, most importantly, making money.

This week on The Write Start my guest is successful full time freelance writer Jennifer L.W. Fink, RN, BSN, a Registered Nurse-turned-writer. She’s the creator of BuildingBoys.net, co-host of the ON BOYS parenting podcast, and author of The First –Time Mom’s Guide to Raising Boys. Jennifer has been published by The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, The Washington Post, FOX News, Parents, Cancer Today and Medscape.
Today she’s here to talk about her career and her book, one I wish I had when I was raising my son. But let’s get into this and find out how she’s been so successful in her full-time freelance writing career.

I dig deep into finding ideas, pitching editors and using one article or idea to create multiple assignments.
