With the founders of Youth for Business, we discuss different careers in an intense and entertaining debate. In this episode, one of the careers we debate is oceanography. There are trade offs to every single decision people make in life. So let's say for example, someone has a passion for oceanography, and they want to pursue it as a career. Is passion more important than financial stability? So let's say they do pursue it as a career. The opportunity cost of pursuing a career in oceanography is financial stability, but what you gain is being able to do something that you love for a living. Let's say, using the same person, they decide to pursue a career in a more lucrative field that isn't their passion. The opportunity cost of this decision is not doing something they love, but what you gain is financial stability that you can use to support a family. What's more important; passion or stability?
