James Baron is preparing for an expedition, an attempt to cross the hellish Brightside of planet Mercury, closest of all worlds in our solar system to the sun. As he waits alone in the dark, cool recesses of the Red Lion Lounge, a strange, disfigured man seats himself at Baron’s table with an incredible story to tell. Written by Alan Edward Nourse in 1956 for Galaxy Magazine, this classic tale has been adapted with care for the Thin Air Podcast Anthology, reigniting the spark of adventure conceived in a time known as the golden age of Science Fiction.
