Longtime ECW and independent wrestler Mike Maverick (AKA Jack Dupp) joins Matt and Scott this week to promote the Chinlock for Chuck benefit show January 15 at North Durham High School in Durham, NC. Mike discusses his career as a WWE “enhancement talent,” his pre-training wrestling days, how he met Chuck Coates (and, later, Shane Helms). Mike walks through how the “Chinlock for Chuck” came to be, how Chuck is beating Hodgkins lymphoma, and how the mainstream media loves to accentuate the negative when it comes to professional wrestling.

Scott and Matt then recap another stellar CWF Mid Atlantic event, the first of 2013, and break down the results and future events. Be sure to follow CWF Mid Atlantic on twitter @cwfmidatlantic. Also follow them on Facebook, and their website is regularly updated. The CWF returns to the Mid Atlantic Sportatorium on January 19. We’ll discuss that show and the Zeban family benefit show Jan 26 next week.

Scott and Matt then briefly preview the AWIF 21st anniversary show Jan 18 and 19. On Jan 18, Scrapyard Dog faces Dick Foley in a “fans bring their own weapons” cage match. On the following night, The Chief Attakullakulla faces Diafullah Dobashi for the AIWF World Title, and Ricky Morton takes on Viper at the AIWF Mid Atlantic Event Center.

Remember – from 2-5PM on Saturday, Jan 19 Morton will be conducting a seminar for all talent – wrestlers, managers, valets, etc.

Jan 26 at the Wentworth Armory “Rock n Roll” Robert Gibson has been announced as a late addition and will be taking on Robert Roma in singles action. Also, the mysterious man from the Bowery has been added to the event. Raven, the former ECW superstar and WCW Television champion, has been signed.
