We are rolling in Year Two of the TigerTalk Podcast at Northeast Mississippi Community College. In this fifty-first (51st) episode of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes technology specialist and Apple Distinguished Educator Jeffrey Powell to the podcast as Powell promotes next week's AR/VR Festival in the Student Activities office of the Haney Union. Northeast, which is ranked as one of the Top 10 digital community colleges in the nation, is continually at the forefront of digital innovation in the classroom and with this upcoming Augmented and Virtual Reality Festival, Northeast plans to move up in the rankings. Powell also talks about the Be Confident Out Loud Conference that was on campus last weekend where Survivor: Season 29 finalist Missy Payne made a stop on campus to speak to approximately 100 youth ages 12-18 about finding their voice and being leaders in their communities. In the second half of this week's program, Kollmeyer welcomes C.J. Childers to the show. Childers is the reigning Most Beautiful at the college and helps promote the Parade of Beauties pageant on Tuesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. in the Seth Pounds Auditorium. Childers, who is very active in the Northeast community, also takes the time to give some time management tips and what her Northeast experience means to her. Kollmeyer wraps up the podcast with a new addition to the publication -- an extended version of what is coming up on campus that details events happening on and around the Northeast campus in a daily breakdown. It contains one of the most comprehensive lists of events and happenings on campus -- so if you have an event or happening on campus and want it mentioned on the podcast, please reach out. If you haven't subscribed to the podcast, now would be a good time to subscribe to stay up-to-date on all the happenings on the Northeast campuses and hear in-depth interviews with guests each week.
