ASMR seems to be gaining popularity thanks to platforms like TikTok but what exactly is it?

How do these videos of people whispering into big fluffy microphones and pretending to brush our hair have such a calming mental and physical effect on some people… but do nothing for others?

Is ASMR the magic cure for anxiety and insomnia? Tully seems to think so!

One of Tully’s favourite ASMR artists, Tori aka. Restful Rambles joins her on the podcast today all the way from Florida, USA to chat about the weird and wonderful world of ASMR.

On today’s episode:

  • What does ASMR stand for?
  • How did Tori get into it?
  • Why does ASMR affect some but not others?
  • What are “triggers”?
  • Why “personal attention” videos are so popular
  • Audio vs. visual triggers
  • Sexy ASMR

You find find Tori on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Spotify by searching “Restful Rambles”.

As always, we'd love to hear from you, slide on into our DMs - nothing's off-limits.
