Despite years of efforts to increase diversity in the tech workforce, women of color have remained underrepresented. Even in cases where some groups of women of color may have higher levels of representation, data show that they still face significant systemic challenges in advancing to leadership positions.

To address these challenges, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine assembled current research and feedback from public workshops to develop recommendations for stakeholders to increase recruitment, retention, and advancement of women of color in the tech ecosystem.

But developing recommendations isn’t enough to address the challenge. We have to teach business leaders in tech about these recommendations so they can put them to good use.

The solution? Transforming Tech: Advancing Innovation Through Inclusion, a lively conversational podcast for tech business managers and leaders who want to hire people from all backgrounds and ensure their workplace is inclusive.

In this five-part series, entrepreneur, computer scientist, and CEO Jamika Burge and her guests cut through the jargon and use “design thinking” to guide listeners to better ways of recruiting, retaining, and advancing women and people of color in their ranks.

Each episode gives the audience actionable solutions to increase the diversity of people and perspectives through fun, informative, and entertaining conversations and narratives.
