Episode 114 Notes

Ahhhh January, when a podcasters thoughts turn to “Best of” lists

And that is what we do! We talk about yours and ours, as well as the usual nonsense.

A little different in that we don’t talk about any new music. Instead, we both feature bands we are recently into. Jaime talks about Albert Hammond Jr (Francis Trouble), and Lou seized on the opportunity to talk about the very excellent Deep Sea Diver (Impossible Weight). Link to the KEXP set that we talk about is below:

My secret fantasy/secret fear is that one of these bands we love finds us and listens. If this is truly the case for this one, I just hope Jessica Dobson is a G.I. Joe fan

One additional note: we talk about Guillermo Del Toto’s Pinocchio. If you don’t like spoilers (for a story you already know, avoid 7:00-13:45

Songs featured in Episode 114

“Impossible Weight” and “Eyes are Red” -Deep Sea Diver

“u-u2” – Black Dresses

“Last Light” - Division of Laura Lee

“Fellini” – Sandman Sleeps

“Masquerade” – Beach House

A considerable number of bands were discussed but not featured, most notably Sharon Van Etten (Lou’s album of the year) For the sake of parity Jaime’s top 3 are:

Soul Glo

Black Dresses

Beach House
