[TRM006] Groof – Staca Format: Vinyl 140gr & digital Release Date: 04.11.2022 Cat Number: TRM006 Pre order: traumacollective.bandcamp.com/album/staca A1. Groof - Take A Break A2. Groof - Command B1. Groof - Staca B2. Groof - Stay Puft X1. Groof - Crash! (Digital Only) A true veteran of Madrid's fabled electronic scene, Roberto Gemelín takes the reins for local imprint Trauma Collective's sixth missive. Known for releases since the late '90s on labels as diverse as Minifunk, Nehoma, Warm Up, and his own imprint Brainwaves, he returns with the first vinyl release under the Groof alias in 10 years - the Staca EP. Whether its the industrial-grade broken beats of opener "Take A Break", or the subterranean snarl of "Command" with its ominous swells underpinned by visceral kicks (perfect for those-heads-down moments) - the A side already showcases the diversity within Gemelín's sonic repertoire. Over on the flip, he continues his onslaught with the functional and hypnotic title track, and ends with the mind game of "Stay Puft", awash in searing synth textures and mechanised rhythms. Finally "Crash!" slams you against the wall, right from the first beat, on this with this vehemently bruising techno workout. P & C 2022 Trauma Collective Records, All Rights Reserved
