This week we head to Baltimore, Maryland where we meet with newly elected Mayor Brandon Scott. Since its election season in the USA we thought who better to talk about the future of travel and tourism in this city than the man leading the vision for the city. Baltimore is a historic city that played an important role in the creation of the USA and since then has continued the legacy as a cultural, intellectual and inspirational hub for Black thought and excellence. As one of the few major cities with majority Black population it does have its share of unique problems and challenges as we move into the next decade. We talk to Brandon about being elected as Mayor, his vision for Baltimore and get a bit of background on the city (02:40), how he plans to attract more visitors to the city (09:45), battling negative perceptions about Baltimore (20:15), and finding the balance between empowering the local community and attracting outside investment aka gentrification (29:50).
