I have really gotten into this emotional intelligence concept. As is the usual case the teacher is getting great benefits from teaching the subject. The benefits have been so important to me that the journey of my seminars and workshops has taken on an additional importance.

When we, as real estate agents, take a course for CE credits that is often the ultimate benefit. If you learn something along the way, so be it. But you really signed up for the CE credits.

Likewise, the agents that enroll in an upcoming seminar or workshop of mine, hope to gain added skills for their real estate sales. Likely some of that motivation stems from your competitive nature that is inherent in every successful sales practioneer. If you’re looking to move up the financial success ladder, nothing whatsoever wrong with that. One hundred agents in your office and last time you looked the top ten spots did not have your name included.

However, let me suggest an alternative dimension to add to your competitive arsenal. Before embarking on getting in the top ten of office heavy weights, let me suggest start with competing with yourself first.

That’s right putting yourself first is going to manifest some serious benefits in all areas of your personal and professional life.
