As we continue our journey through the life of the Apostle Paul, we come to an important concept that was the focal point of Paul's ministry. In Matthew 9:37-38, Jesus says to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." What is the harvest? Where are the harvest fields? And, why are the workers few? The harvest consists of all peoples of the world whom are made in God's image. The harvest fields are all around us, and the few workers are those who are willing to share the Gospel of Jesus with those in the harvest fields. Jesus died on the cross to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins- once and for all. After three days, Jesus rose from the dead conquering sin's grip on us and giving us freedom from sin and death. This message is what Paul shared everywhere he went, and is the same message we are to share every day. Jesus saves! Unfortunately, mankind has made religion and rules the focal point of faith instead of relationship with God. In Acts 15, we see Paul and Barnabas join the Jerusalem Council along with Peter, James and others to combat the "hoops" the Jews were trying to make other Jews and Gentiles jump through to "be religious." God has never been about religion and rules. All our Heavenly Father wants is a relationship with us. Join us this week as we get rid of the hoops and focus on our relationship with God.
